In need of some green company? Then you might want to bring Alfie into your home. This Marimo moss ball is a rare living algae ball on water. Alfie owes his round shape to the fact that he keeps rolling over the bottom. So it is a pretty active little fellow. Furthermore, this green guppie is not very demanding. With a few simple steps you can keep your sweet little algae happy!
Where do you put Alfie?
This Marimo moss ball usually rolls around on the bottom of the Japanese Lake Akan and there is not much sun here. Be careful with too much direct light from the sun or lamps. Otherwise it will get discoloured and you don’t want that. So this little algae ball goes best in a somewhat darker spot.
Our Alfie prefers to swim laps in a nice clean glass. So change his water once every fortnight. Just as fresh. While you are at it, it is best to rinse out this Marimo moss ball. You do that by gently rolling it through your hands under the tap with cold water. That way, your ball of fun fat will be fresh and fruity again in his glass.
